TAMATEBAKO SHOW!

Solo Exhibition
@Spin Gallery, Jinbocho Tokyo

In the story of "Urashima Taro", the protagonist deliberately opens the forbidden box and ages 300 years older, dying shortly afterwards.What we didn't know was that Otohime had given him 5 boxes to choose from, each representing a different destiny.

Themes such as quantum physics, time travel, memento mori, endless cycle of life and death are all expressed in these boxes. These themes are illustrated through the imagery of various religions and  flower symbolism. Each box represents a certain Yuga from the Hindu veda, and marks the number of a biblical quote that expresses a similar meaning.
